David Walsh is one of our Health Care Consultants. Dave has a Diploma in General Studies from Okanagan University College where he took a particular interest in psychology. This led Dave to completing a Bachelor’s of Science in Psychiatric Nursing from Douglas College. While completing his nursing education, Dave worked as a tenant support worker for a non-profit low barrier housing organization that operates mostly in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside. After graduating in 2010, Dave has worked in both the inpatient and the community mental health settings in Vancouver and now the South Okanagan.

 

One of Dave’s primary interests and hobbies is travel. He spent a year hitch hiking around New Zealand and working his way around Australia. He travelled through Central America for five months and has taken various shorter trips to parts of Sub-Saharan Africa, South America, Europe and Asia. Dave also loves to explore BC and has taken an interest in learning about the local First Nations communities in the areas he has visited, including eloping in Haida Gwaii and spending his honey moon sleeping in the back of his Subaru exploring the rural areas of BC. Dave also enjoys snowboarding, being in the outdoors, surfing, camping, attending live music events and reading.
